I use these as standard headphones (no mic or buttons) and they work great. I bought them because of the low profile which means they don't stick out as far from the player as regular jacks, creating the possibility of damage if not rolled properly in your pocket. They're pretty good at that. No problems with sound. The male side suits my player perfectly. The female side is quite tight, could possibly be a bit tighter, but there is no play/disconnection. I haven't had any issues with the headphone output yet. They seem to be well made, they have a lot of material. I would probably recommend them to a friend if they are looking for stuff like this. EDIT: I later discovered that I hadn't fully plugged in the headphones. to this adapter. In fact, the jack is exceptionally tight, not dangling at all. So I repeat my recommendation for it, I just think it's great.
