I bought it as an initial one, in order to get acquainted with the 2022-3 platform. Then switched to 5930K. What is the result? In principle, the 5820K was satisfied. 28 PCIe lanes is not a disadvantage, but a feature: if you are not going to install SLI, then why pay more? And if you suddenly put two video cards, then x16 + x8 will not lose much x16 + x16. I installed SLI myself. There was an opportunity, and the percent changed. Summary: The 5820K processor is totally worth the money. SkyLake, KabyLake, what's next? . They come and go, but this one will remain, because, in a good way, there is even no need to change it to the new Broadwell-E.
