Perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

I bought it as an initial one, in order to get acquainted with the 2022-3 platform. Then switched to 5930K. What is the result?
In principle, the 5820K was satisfied. 28 PCIe lanes is not a disadvantage, but a feature: if you are not going to install SLI, then why pay more? And if you suddenly put two video cards, then x16 + x8 will not lose much x16 + x16. I installed SLI myself. There was an opportunity, and the percent changed.
Summary: The 5820K processor is totally worth the money. SkyLake, KabyLake, what's next? . They come and go, but this one will remain, because, in a good way, there is even no need to change it to the new Broadwell-E.

Pros

1. Powerful. Even after 2 years, its power is more than enough for everyday tasks. Yes, if you are a semi pro too. 2. 6 cores 12 threads do the trick. 3. SOLD under the cap! What does this mean: OVERCLOCKING is usually better, but it all depends on the instance. 4. If you don’t particularly drive, then in principle it’s not hot, in the drain under Linx 64 degrees. But the turntables were on the machine, barely turning. 5. Textolite of normal thickness: Broadwell-E will be thinner. For some reason, on a subconscious level, it seems that a thick textolite is more reliable, or something .

Cons

But during overclocking, even moderate, capricious to cooling. Perhaps this is all its shortcomings.

Pros: 15MB cache in the third level, with Hyper-threading, the computer sees this processor as a twelve-core With its cons: Quite expensive, although the price is much more adequate than at 5930k and even more so at 5960x
