Review on 🌬️ CLEVAST 1,500 Sq. Ft Energy Star Dehumidifier: Efficient Home, Basement, Living Room, Garage, and Closet Moisture Control with Reusable Air Filter, UL Listed by Paul Rosemark

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great so far! Only it consumes 318 watts and not the advertised 250 watts.

These 1500 sqm. ft (22 pints) I've only had it a few days but so far it's excellent! Beautiful design, simple operation and relatively quiet operation. On the first day (24 hours) the humidity in my small shop went from 84% to 62% and is now at 55%. Great, that's exactly what I was hoping for. We've had a very wet spring and summer this year and I've found that the humidity in my basement has gotten so bad that some of my instruments are growing mold. This should solve this problem! I love that it's Energy Star certified and says it only uses 250W of electricity! This low power consumption was an important factor in my choice and why I prefer it to other similar brands. BUT WAIT, I measured the power consumption with my kilowatt meter and it draws 318 watts! Not as efficient as I had hoped. I'm deducting a star because it seems to be using more power than advertised. Revain has many dehumidifiers to choose from and it's hard to choose. I chose this Clevast because I liked the price, the features including the side air outlet and because they indicate real power. It's amazing how many manufacturers don't include power consumption on their Revain list! It's a shame that it actually draws more watts than specified, otherwise it would have been perfect. OK, the other gripe was that the annoying STICKER they put on the water collection tank was REALLY difficult to remove. It actually took me at least 10 minutes to get this sticker off. After trying a few different things I had to use a solvent to remove the sticker from the front. AGGRAVATING! I almost took off a star for it, but I decided not to because I really like this desiccant so far. Final TIP: Use a continuous drain hose. That was my plan from the start, but not the SMALL (0.8 gallon) BUILT-IN WATER COLLECTION TANK on this machine. You won't want to delete it manually as it fills up quickly.

Pros
  • EASY TO SETUP AND USE: The CLEVAST dryer has a simple control panel. When it reaches the set time or temperature, it will intelligently turn off. The automatic defrost function effectively reduces the damage to the machine caused by the collected water ice and keeps the continuous dehumidification for 24 hours, which is amazing.
