This thing is huge. I was surprised that even my 42 half watercolor palette fit in. I don't usually carry it by the handle; I only use it as storage for my art supplies so I can't comment on the durability of the pen but it feels like it will last for many many years. I don't think this case is ideal for watercolors. Brushes, because there's nothing here to prevent your brushes from banging against the sides of the case. They ruin brush tips, and for watercolors, brush tip is important. I use this watercolor case but don't plan to travel with it so it's fine. If you plan to travel with your watercolor brushes, I suggest putting them in a separate case that will keep the brushes in place.
