The overall body is tin, and the appearance is good, can't tell if the glass surface is really glass, but after tapping it. looks like it. The back cover is plastic, although the color matches the pewter. The battery worked if you don't understand - just a basic quartz movement you would buy from Ben Franklin for DIY clock projects, although this one doesn't have a second hand. The dial is clear and sharp. So is it worth the money? - Yes, I would say get a view for a fraction of the price. I bought it for my kitchen table to emulate the vibe of an old rustic kitchen. and he does just that.
