I have a Logitech G930 wireless gaming headset with 7.1 surround sound that I've been using for over a year now and really, really like. Unfortunately, as the Revain reviews and other sources attest, it has developed an issue where it no longer calculates. (The charging port was loose inside and could only be fixed with a risky procedure that I didn't want to try.) So I had to find a replacement, but I didn't want to pay $100-$250 for another gaming headset. at least not at this point. I chose LifeChat based on a recommendation from a WireCutter article. I have to say right away that I mainly use my headphones for PC gaming and bought them as a temporary solution until I get another pair of more expensive gaming headphones. Audio Quality: Headphone audio only for the $30 kit, superb. I was really very pleasantly surprised. The mic was also very adept at picking up sound and didn't seem to pick up much white background noise (I often use Skype with the fan spinning right behind me). Cable Length: Yes, that deserves its own paragraph. Depending on where my computer is and how big my desk is, the length of the cable is very important. I can't stand products that require all peripherals to be six feet from the computer. This product's cord was long enough to reach my computer and tucked neatly behind my desk. I always appreciate when products have a longer cable - from game controllers to speaker cables to HDMI - because it gives you more versatility. Again, for a cheaper headset, finding a longer cable was a very pleasant surprise. Comfort: This is the only area I can fault with this product. The earcups aren't big enough to fit completely over my ear (like most headphones I'm used to) and over time my upper and lower lobes started to hurt from the earcups pressing them directly against my head. The caveat, as I said initially, is that I use them for gaming. So after two or three hours it becomes a problem. If you're the kind of person who will use them for a ten to thirty minute call, they're no problem. If you plan on using them for a long time without removing them, you will probably have to expect some discomfort over time (more than 2 hours), unlike headphones that close completely over the ear. Price: This is an excellent product for the price. I still prefer much more expensive in-ear headphones, but for such a low price you don't have to sacrifice much in sound and build quality. There are no cheap external foam pieces etc. For most purposes and most people these should be very good headphones.
