I have no comparison experience as this is my first GoPro but I really like the camera. I mainly use it for filming quad bike rides. It has withstood all the bumps, dirt, mud and water very well. The video quality is excellent and the stabilization is almost too good. It seems like I'm floating in the air, not driving over rough terrain. Battery life is pretty short, around 30 minutes each so far, but the batteries are pretty cheap, you just have to have a lot of the extras already charged. This is a good kit, extra batteries are good. There is enough storage for a large number of videos. I've read complaints about the new foldable toe brackets but I think they work great. When mounted on my head, I have a hard time finding the power button without removing it from my head, but I'm pretty sure it's the same on every camera. This is not possible with gloves. The record button is easier. These functions can be performed using your phone and app, which is good, but using my dirt and grime-covered phone is no better. I don't know how good the cheaper cameras from other manufacturers are, but I'm happy with the GoPro.
