FIRMWARE UPDATE I'm a network systems coordinator. Please note that when you buy a cable modem, its firmware can only be updated by your ISP. So your hardware is only as good as your cable provider's firmware allows. Depending on your ISP, most of them don't update your firmware because it's not their hardware and they want you to use (and pay for) their hardware. Many of the issues I had were fixed in firmware updates that my ISP won't download. You've decided to leave the corrupted firmware in place and you're stuck with a very expensive boat anchor. NETGEAR APPS Netgear (genius) software should be put back in the bottle. The Genie App, Mobile App, and Web App are slow and unresponsive. It is difficult to make changes and this causes your network to constantly crash. This applies to all of their hardware offerings. I would choose a different product line and stay away from anything NETGEAR.
