Review on UGREEN Adapter MacBook Chromebook Pixelbook by Drake Burroughs

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The cheapest plastic case imaginable doesn't last long

Okay so under $12 everything should have been said but I was like what the heck it looks good in the picture; The USB-C hub gives me 4 USB-A ports... I have another UGREEN hub and it's metal and works fine. So I got the thing, and not only is the case not metal, which was obvious for such a cheap purchase. , but the plastic sleeve is so incredibly thin that it seems to me that simply holding on to insert or remove a USB stick will cause the sleeve to break. Calling this thing cheap is an addition; It feels like this thing wouldn't last a day of regular use without breaking. Terrible pure crappy hub shell. On the other hand, before it cracked, I checked all 4 USB-A ports connected to a MacBook Air M1 and all ports worked fine. Therefore, reviews that it does not work without an external power supply seem wrong - it works; It's my fault for thinking something so cheap could be genuine and of decent quality; I am ashamed. I'll use it now until it breaks; not worth the hassle of sending it back. Seriously, ugh, incredibly cheap crappy assembly/plastic bushing. Spend a few bucks more and get a well-known metal case company... Lesson learned.

Pros
  • 5 Gbps High Speed: The 4-port USB-C data hub supports ultra-fast data transfer up to 5 Gbps - 10 times faster than USB 2.0 ( 480 Mbit/s) c, so you can transfer HD movies or large files in just a few seconds; The USB Type-C extension hub has been built into an OTG function chip, which allows you to easily connect your mouse, keyboard, USB disk and other USB devices to your USB-C phones and tablets.
