This just arrived this morning and I decided to go ahead and install it. Please note this is the first ceiling fan I have installed without assistance. I've seen some setups, but never made them myself. It all started with unpacking, reading the instructions and watching the installation video for a few minutes. Once I decided on the length and oars, it took me about 10 minutes to lay everything out. Once I understood the strategy, it took me about 5 minutes to assemble each of the blades and make sure I tightened everything properly. With everything ready, it was time to install the fan itself. I turned off the power at the switch, unscrewed the lamp, and then got to work. If you already have a fan installed, you won't even run into a speed bump. If this is your first time, you should probably double and triple check everything to be on the safe side. It took another 10 minutes just to be on the safe side. A major test followed, turning the switch back on and then turning the power back on. I was a little worried that I would see smoke or something (because I'm not good at that, not because there's nothing wrong with the fan). Everything worked without glitches. I also had a switch and remote installed, but these are optional items. In any case, if you buy them with a fan, they're just as easy to get up and running. After everything was set up and powered up, I checked to make sure the knives were aligned and everything was almost perfect. This is an indication of how well designed it is, not my skill. I was very pleased with how easy it was, I was very surprised that it turned out to be so easy. Took me about 1/2 hour but I got some things done beforehand. However, I took my time and methodically laid everything down, which took far longer than most people would need. 1/2 hour to an hour is all it takes no matter how careful you are. The fan is big, it looks great, it's about as quiet as it gets and to my surprise I saw that it had a lifespan. Warranty. Life span! Everything about this experience and the fan was just well done and if I get another fan it will definitely be the Hunter.
