I adopted a cat that likes to chew on electrical cords, I was lucky. I've used this tube everywhere and it has almost completely if not completely eliminated her chewing. At times I could see her trying to chew on her pipe but she seemed to lose interest quickly I guess due to the texture. And she couldn't chew the hose down to the wires. I'm not sure there's anything better for these purposes, but it worked fine for my cat. The half inch size is very easy to cut and slide over the wires. I have tried thinner tubing from another manufacturer and found it very difficult to get through the wires so easily.
