So close. Just two design flaws

I bought this to mimic my mom's eggs. It is great for boiling eggs. However, the design of the handle, especially on the poacher, leaves a lot to be desired. My mother's cloud (many decades old) has the shape of an inverted funnel, a cylinder expanding upwards. This creates a small area of contact with your fingers so you can grab it comfortably right after cooking and the poached eggs are still perfectly cooked and ready to toast. The Hamilton Beach model's pins are spheres. This creates more contact area with your fingers, forcing you to either wait for it to cool (and the eggs will overcook and start to cool); Use a paper towel, heating pad, or other tool to lift it, which isn't ideal for maneuvering, to scoop out the eggs. or have asbestos fingers that I don't have. My other complaint is that the plastic egg piercing tip only lasted exactly one round of eggs. After that he was too boring and could crack them. I only use a pickaxe/awl and it's not a big deal, but if you don't have one laying around it can be a disadvantage Pros: +Classic, vintage design, was audible but not distracting. Cons: - Poacher's pen is cute but too hot for some users. - The tip of the egg piercing measuring cup is made of plastic and won't stick to eggshells for a long time.

Pros
  • Perfect eggs in a jiffy: quick poached, soft boiled, hard boiled, and hard boiled eggs
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous
