New and perennial favorite

This is by far one of the best games I've played. I never get tired of playing it over and over again. HOW 1) Exciting and interesting plot. I like that the plot isn't romantically oriented, although most of the characters (including you) can form relationships and even get married by building supportive conversations with the characters. The plot makes sense (for the most part) and it felt like I was part of that other world. The game has supernatural and fantasy elements so you may need to maintain a suspension of disbelief to truly enjoy it. You can also play as both male and female, which is great, and you can customize them with a limited number of options for hairstyle, hair and color, height, strength and weakness, and voice. The little and possibly overlooked gem of the game is its tutorial. I appreciate how well integrated the tutorial is. This is the very first Fire Emblem game I played (it's a massive series spanning almost 3 decades since its inception in 1990) and even I was able to pick up the turn-based and almost "chess" gameplay quickly and to understand. strategy format. Although there is a certain part of the game that is dedicated solely to learning, the game continues to make it easier for you to understand the complexity of its various features. 2) Voice Acting I've never played a game where the voice acting was limited to a limited number of specific phrases for each character, but I was pleasantly surprised at how the same phrases can be used with different nuances depending on the situation and the context of, what the characters say in the text box. They're usually used for their intended purpose, so I don't feel awkward or embarrassed by the voice actors, and I even laughed a few times. I definitely think the voice acting added another layer of depth to the characters that I wasn't expecting. 3) Strategy You have so many options and approaches to apply to any battlefield you enter. Each character has specific movement radius and attack points. There are all kinds of different items and weapons that you can use as well. POSSIBLE REJECTIONS: 1) No open world - each phase of the story contains a specific battlefield. Once the game/story is complete, it's over. There are no post-story sequels or side stories to play. However, your data from the main story will be saved and you can collect more data (usually conversations/marriages with different characters). Main story movement is also limited to specific battlegrounds, although there are also side story points that you play through. the game. It's amazing and challenging with numerous character upgrade options and different approaches to take on each battlefield. However, once you get the hang of it, you're done. I personally liked this challenge. Overall, the game had a great balance of voice acting, story, character development, cutscenes, special moves, and strategy. The background music and soundtrack are awesome too.
