I am 82 years old and have been sewing for many years. I did them when I was very young and had no problems. Decided to try it as a gift for my granddaughter. Well I couldn't believe the heartache it brought me. The material is so cheap - hanging threads and cheaply made. Loops easily fall off hooks that are too short and tools are almost useless. When I knitted three sides, all the stitches came from the last side! I did what anyone would do back then: I said a few joking words, took everything out, carefully put everything back in the box and sent it back. The metal needle threader has difficulty pulling through the stitches because if not held properly, the cut end will get caught in the stitches. It was particularly difficult to get close to the end of the sides as it got very narrow. Maybe I'm just too old, but I can't imagine an 8 year old doing that. I would like to see a photo of one of these machines from 70 years ago. Today, manufacturers are lowering the price of everything.
