From the product photo it looks like you can roll the rug, but you can only roll the rug if it is 3 feet wide. Everything else we have to fold and if it's a big rug it will be too thick to fit in this bag. It's also very thin and I doubt it will hold too much to use. Again, I don't know why it says extra large when it fits on a mat no wider than 3 feet.
