The compartment is big enough for basketball shoes.
I had shoe racks over the door but the rack was too small for my basketball shoes. The padded organizational shelf is a pretty decent place and I have no problem storing my big shoes there. I hope they can make the lower room longer or taller and I can even put my shoes in it. only advice.
