Review on Alpinestars Bionic Freeride Shorts: Enhanced Protection and Mobility for Ultimate Performance by Michael Keitt

I ride Black Diamond/Expert/Pro trails regularly and need extra protection. I decided to shell out the money when I fell and landed on my right thigh - I was limping for over a week. After getting the Alpinestars shorts I fell and landed on my hip 3 times (various surfaces of roots, mud and wooden planks) and felt nothing. I was able to get back on my bike and continue on my way. This is especially good when you're traveling with a clip and don't have time to unbuckle before landing on your page. There is no suede, but there is protection for the tailbone. I usually wear soft underwear or shorts underneath that offer suede. PS This review is for mountain biking only. I don't know how they will fare in more dangerous autosports.
