
After a Microsoft "soft" keyboard died, I studied about the distinctions between membrane and mechanical keyboards and went to the store where I ultimately settled on this one. Many years were membrane before that. I enjoy it. Since I was accustomed to having a palm rest on the previous model and finding its absence embarrassing, everything turned out to be functional without it.
