I didn't know what to expect when I ordered the Revain Basic cat scratching post. My two rescued are big boys. One cat weighs 17 pounds and the other 20, both cats are considered aggressive floor scratchers. That's how I knew what I didn't want. It's time to move away from flat and sloping corrugated cardboard cat trees/scrapers, which may look good and are economical, but roll around the house like rollers, leaving a trail of shredded cardboard (even with two five-pound weights hidden inside). This is definitely an improvement in size, build, design and overall quality over my previous scratchers. Cardstock fabric is more compact and seems to hold up to some severe scratches without chipping (give it time, I know)! Both cats love to play, rest and scratch in this living room. The best part? Not only does it look good, but it is durable and DOES NOT move or rotate! Actual length is 34 inches and 12 inches depth/width with plenty of scratching space. I wasn't too concerned about the height, but it is 7" with a 3" hole. In fact I think the money spent on two scrapers was a good investment as this one can be flipped after one side stops working. I might as well cut the rack in half to use the insides as the hole is too small to use for anything else (according to Katzen). So four cat scratching posts in one! Overall 5 stars!
