This is my second time using this curling iron. The first lasted me over 10 years before finally breaking one of the springs in the clamp, so I had no hesitation in buying this product again. My only complaint is that the pavement design has changed over the years. The new version has air vents, while the old version had a fully enclosed iron. The slots are wide enough for your fingers to touch the hot iron. I have to be very careful when putting on the cover after using the iron. I wouldn't pack this in my luggage until the iron is cold. The old lid didn't expose any of the heated surfaces, and I wouldn't hesitate to toss it in my luggage while it's still hot.
