I have tried all types of coasters including Thirstystone with images printed on them. None of them soaked up enough condensation, and I ended up with soggy cork floors and puddles on my tables. I was skeptical but agreed with the reviews about these natural sandstone coasters. I'm so glad I did. The reviewer said they're cheap, shed a lot of sand, have a thin cork bottom, and can damage furniture. I strongly disagree. It is fine sandstone with good cork (not very thick), furniture protection and natural stone. Therefore, they have a variety of patterns. If you want a consistent pattern, buy a different type of coaster. I find natural patterns beautiful and very absorbent; no puddles, no rings, no scratched furniture. They had some sand from shipping but I wiped them down with a sponge and they were ready to use. In my opinion. Great coasters and worth every penny.
