Bought these to replenish my travel supply in general but also for the specific purpose of having a bunch of ready to use hand sanitizer bottles on hand. Came tightly packed in a cardboard box with a lid in a plastic bag. I can't remember any protective packaging. I checked them all for cracks, then checked a few for leaks, no problem. They were easy to fill from the 1 gallon pump bottle my husband brought home. They're not really "squeeze bottles," at least not by my definition. My weak hands have to strain to squeeze the gel out, but it flows. This is normal for a thin gel hand sanitizer as it prevents waste. I always get too much from a pump bottle. One of these 2 oz bottles rolled around in my very large and overflowing purse for several weeks without leaking. At least loosen it so the air can stimulate the flow. I suppose you could enlarge the hole with a drill (or maybe an awl or a nail and hammer), but the lid may not close tightly anymore. If you want thicker liquids, I recommend buying a different type of bottle instead. In my experience, cloudy plastic is softer and spreads more easily. I don't have one, but something like this might work for you. Be sure to read all descriptions before purchasing.
