Mon Feb 16 2015 9:28 am. I bought *six* of these Cooler Masters - one "U2", the rest "U2 Plus"; They appear to be the same block - and one of them undoubtedly extended the lifespan of a ailing HP laptop with a weak fan. That's good news. But this HP laptop survived *three* things! The first one was *obviously* defective, and I had to use a sparkle and shims to even get one of its fans to spin. I ended up replacing it when the noise got dangerously loud. The replacement *started* being overly loud; I've been using it elsewhere for a few months where I don't think I noticed, and it sounded like a fan was *about* leaving. As if they sympathized with HP! The third block is quiet; beautiful. This is a poor quality indicator. Therefore 2 stars; although I might buy another one if I can't find a more competitive device. These fans should last a long time; should have on HP - and it lasted a year or two, which is longer than any of the Cooler Masters.
