I've had console repair experience since the Nintendo days. So if you have a 360 with a copper conductor, don't cut the heatsink, it's slightly retarded, instead unscrew the conductor with a torx screwdriver and slightly force it to move up and to the right to to put the case back on later. If you move the copper conductor a bit, you can install the heatsink on the soldered memory chip and then on your kit, which is much easier. And the included sticky pads are great, so if you make a mistake, they can be easily ripped off without ruining the sticky pads. It worked flawlessly for me and the 360 looks better and the chips are cooler.
