This sprayer comes with no user information or use and care instructions. Like all new kitchen items, I washed them before use. In the upper level of the dishwasher (for gentler treatment), the bottle has become so deformed that it can no longer be used. I usually wash my kitchenware on the top rack of the dishwasher on the regular rinse cycle. This item obviously cannot withstand water temperatures above moderately warm. Now I have a sprayer without a bottle.
