The device looked nice and promising, the assembly wasn't difficult, after installing the program and plugging it in, the device started working immediately, chic attractive design and fits well on my desk. This is where the good review ends. I had it for a little over a week and got it back. This is a very low power 3W blue diode laser. The software is useless and freezes in the middle of most jobs, especially large ones. It was annoying when I spent time and money to buy material, design, to learn When I'm ready to burn and fire the laser, adjust the size and position, and finally when I align everything it freezes and I have to restart the device, after that I have to align everything again. The software doesn't know whether to burn or engrave. This means that after successfully setting the job, power and speed, I have to wait for the job to complete and either decide to increase the power and restart the job, or delete the job. There is no third party software for this device that I could use to replace the production of useless software. The software is very terrible. I can't cut and engrave at the same time. There is no ruler or grid in the software, to let me know where is my work relative to my actual location so I can accurately place my element on screen. There are no coordinates in the program that tell me how far the laser head traveled to align. All the buttons on the screen had no labels, saving is terrible as it just generates a BMP bitmap in the application folder with a system generated filename and doesn't ask for a filename. At the end of my experience I was able to burn some laser quality boards, 3 watts is very low for doing what you might think they were trying to do with a laser engraver. It can be called a cardboard burning device. The mini laser fan was loud and annoying. I'm not sure why this device has over 60 good reviews! 3 watts is very weak to do what you might think they were trying to do with a laser engraver. It can be called a cardboard burning device.
