Review on ⏲️ Large Display Dual Timer with Marathon's Countdown/Up, Blinking Alarm, Adjustable Sound, Magnetic Back and Stand, Batteries Included (Double Timer Black) by Wendy Kennedy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Time is in hours, not just minutes and seconds

Got this mainly for health/fitness reasons. I have to get up from my office chair every 15 minutes and then stay on my feet for 2 minutes; either for a short task or for simple, low-intensity exercise. It can shorten the time to zero compared to the preset value stored in memory. He can also extend time indefinitely from scratch; before the preset end time. The triangular arrow indicates which of the two modes is set for which interval. I don't need a flashing green LED during the countdown, but unlike other reviews I didn't find it annoying. This serves as a good reminder to glance at the time from time to time, as it is often useful (or for various reasons) to know how much time is left. If it wasn't for the blinking LED, you could forget the time and force yourself to move away from the timer, out of the audible range of its alarm. The two small magnets on the back are strong enough to hold it to my stainless steel fridge. door or the metal grille of my mobile phone's desktop bluetooth speaker. It is best to compare it with another similar item. Instead of this item I prefer to use a PAIR of black SINGLE Ultrak/IDS Interval Timers which I also have. They are sold by Revain under various brand names. Although slightly smaller than this marathon timer, their digits are much larger: their minute digits are 1 3/8 inches, compared to just 11/16 inches on this device. Also, they can stand on the table/counter at a better viewing angle than this marathon timer. They have ferrite magnets while this marathon has a stronger rare earth magnet. Unlike the Marathon, however, the Ultrak has a built-in steel "keeper" for its magnet, which not only increases its magnetic holding power, but also retains its magnetism. This is the only difference between Ultrak and IDS, which is half the price. Since this Marathon does not have a built-in steel "holder", you should attach this timer to something ferrous when not in use. Otherwise, its high quality rare earth magnets will gradually lose their strength. Unless you need to measure time in hours, I'd recommend a pair of Ultrak or a cheaper IDS instead. Ultrak/IDS will NOT display the clock. His longest readings are 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
