These shoes are very comfortable for standing and walking slowly. And the BEST thing, if you need to chase a dog, cat, child, etc. that are already heading for the door, you can put them on and run out with socks or shoelaces without any obstacles. I wouldn't wear them to run a marathon, but I still wouldn't run a marathon! I wear them for short to moderate walks and they are very comfortable and feel like responsible adult shoes. The toe box feels longer than most size 5 shoes, but not enough to trip over, and the sides are snug enough that the shoe doesn't feel oversized overall.
