My original voltage regulator only put out about 5 amps. I wanted closer to 10+ amps. I bought this voltage regulator and it started smoking when I cranked the mower. Yes it was wired correctly and yes I have already removed the alternator, battery, fuses and wiring. I put my old one back in and it still works. The seller wants me to cover shipping for this $11 item. It is not worth. I asked him if I could cut the wires and just send him a photo and he declined. He will not return the money until he gets it back. That's understandable, except it only cost me $11. Buy genuine Briggs, not fake ones.
