Review on AeroPress Go Portable Coffee Press – Makes Delicious Coffee, Espresso, and Cold Brew in Just 1 Minute – Ideal for Travel, 1-3 Cups by Courtney Cameron

Big fan of Aeropress, but Aeropress Go is broken.

I love Aeropress. I've been using them for 12 years now and have them with all of our relatives so they always have them handy when they visit. I was hoping the Go would be a great aero press for travel. Although well engineered for the task of packing the parts together into a compact unit, the fit between the base and screen is so tight that the tabs do not fully engage. The result is coffee brewing disasters when you push the plunger. The filter holder, ground coffee and boiling water are thrown into the cup and the hot mash is spread everywhere. When traveling, this usually means hitting the hotel bathroom sink and everything around it. What a mess! This has never happened before. This has happened six times on one trip. The problem is that the projection tolerance is too small. You cannot screw the filter holder to the base tight enough. Only the tips of the ears are affected. When hot water hits the plastic, it expands and releases hot coffee, grinder and portafilter under the pressure of the piston. I've tried filing the ears a bit, but so far that's not enough. When I get home I will serve more. I love the Aeropress again. No coffee machine also makes coffee. But Go has a manufacturing tolerance issue that needs to be addressed immediately.
