The Padcist straightening brush is a great replacement for a traditional straightening iron. I have a Chi iron at home and have always had good results with it, but now I've seen the brushes appear on Amazon and I've always been very curious. It took my hair about the same amount of time to straighten as my Chi and I feel like it hit its maximum heat around the same time. I like that there is no smoushing or hair. With a traditional straightener, I usually have to hold it in a certain way, otherwise it just straightens my hair instead of straightening it completely. I love how easy it was to use the brush because it kept the objects inside more effectively, not flat but voluminous. The Padcist straightening brush is lightweight and lays flat on my desk. It was easy to use and attractive (looks like a hair dyson!). Didn't feel like it hit max temperature in 30 seconds (according to instructions) but it got hot anyway. It took several minutes to reach the maximum level. It has an auto shut off feature (20 minutes) which is a great safety feature for me. Fair warning (and why I snapped a star): The power button is metal and is located close to the device. When I wanted to turn it off, it was hot! So just in your head! I would still recommend it, I definitely like it more than my flat iron.
