Easy to assemble, they also come without instructions but they come in separate bags. The only thing with the screws is the bar. The toddler uses them all the time, especially the edge. I couldn't fit everything as his cage is still small but he really loves the ledge and jungle gym. The only thing I don't like is the swing. Maybe I got it wrong but it falls off so I took it out. Also, the materials aren't wooden, which is a bit of a concern, but my hamster didn't nibble on it. He only gnaws the inside of his wooden hut.
