I didn't use any of the usual thru-hole components that came with this kit. I bought it purely for the circuit board and sockets. One of the 6J1 bulbs had hairline cracks on a few pins. With the insertion, the vacuum was completely lost. I like that I have a bunch of parts and matching pairs. The board itself is of sufficient quality. None of the pads delaminated when soldering lead-free with the SAC305. If you're looking for a cheap DIY tube preamp, this might be for you. Just expect to replace any components that require some sort of quality control or precision. Check *everything* you can before soldering and applying power.
