I bought a similar product under a different name and recently bought this product and so far this player has impressed me even more than the previous version. In fact, I've used many, many different MP3 players for swimming. I swim almost two miles a day and I can't get along with a boring rhythm without the help of music. I found it to be the best player with all the features I care about. In fact, it's the only floating MP3 player that I've had to turn down the volume on, which is impressive. go very loud, which is good. Also fantastic is the ability to feel buttons (who needs a screen when you've got a player on the back of your head) to move forward/backward. Yes, the controls and limited options are simplified, but that's exactly what you need if you're serious about swimming and can't fiddle with the controls. The price of this item is great too. Downloading music is easy too, just pop it into your old computer and voila, it's a flash drive. No hassle with a stupid music file manager like other idiotic players. I also really like how it attaches to the back of the glasses. It's a bit of a shame but I don't like the fact that the input jack is on the side, I wish it was on top but it still works fine. However, I haven't used the headphones at all, so I can't confirm them. But the H20 short cable headphones sound really good when paired with this great player. I've found that the biggest downside to an underwater MP3 player is the headphones. If you hit a wall while reversing, very few headphones can withstand that kind of pressure. The H20 Surge Plus headphones (short cable for lap swimming) and the H2O X1 headphones are excellent but expensive, you can see my reviews there. Those extra in-ear headphones are an investment, but they do a great job underwater. You can also use the extension that this MP3 player offers to extend the short cord headphones if needed. I downloaded 1200 MP3 songs (192k per song) and I am very happy that it is an 8k player. I was under the impression that this player would only play songs in alphabetical order by artist. So if your playlist is structured like this then their method will work for you, but I hate listening to multiple songs by the same artist in a row and prefer to mix them up. The main feature of this product is the shuffle function and the ability to play the set playlist in the desired order. I use this shuffle feature when I get bored with my playlist, but the other thing about this product is that if you put numbers in front of the names or tags, it will play your playlist. I use a couple of simple free windows programs called Rename (a simple app) or Mp3tag (it's a more complex app but much more flexible once you learn it) that automatically add numbers to the names of the songs I want to hear . in the order I want to play them, and this player will play them in that order. In addition, the next time you turn on the player, the last track played will be selected. (This is a simple feature, but there have actually been players that return to the first song on the list after the player is turned off.) Also, some useful tips for using waterproof headphones: 1. Start with the larger rubber earbuds first. and then work your way down to the smaller sizes if they don't fit. Using the larger sizes will give you a tighter barrier against water.2. Some people use petroleum jelly (damn, you can imagine putting it in your ear) or lightly dampen the ear cushions with water before putting them in your ear, believing that this makes them stay in the ear better. But I disagree, and I've found that the best way to keep them in your ear is to use earbuds and quickly wipe your ear where the kidneys are (outside the ear canal, not inside). This is how you wipe the oil off your ear and keep my kidneys full while swimming. This is important because if the kidneys are weakened, you'll get water behind you and you'll be washed down with water for the rest of the swim. However, the volume is loud, to overcome this with this player all you have to do is remove the water to reset the bud in your ear.3. When you put them in your ear, pull back the top of your ear with your other hand. This stretches it and allows the ear canal to wrap neatly around the earmold. With these three steps, you can enjoy music much better. I hope this helps with buying all types of waterproof MP3s for years since they first came out and believe me I've gone through the gamut of them and read a lot of stupid reviews. I hope this sheds some light on swimming to music, which I really enjoy, and helps you avoid the learning curve I had to go through. Happy sailing!
