Size smaller - buy a smaller size
I usually wear size 9.5 Adidas shoes - now I have one pair but in the past I have had several. They were exceptionally large - about two inches from the tip of my thumb to the bottom of my boot. They fit my son who wears a men's size 9.5. I didn't return them because he took them but I was disappointed that the size was so off.
