For chronic back pain, we recommend definitely starting with the "LOW” function and just massaging for 15 minutes and then see how you do. I did the massage for 45 minutes, after which I immediately felt severe pain when I got up. It was just my personal reaction and it can't be due to anyone other than me and my own situation. If you turn the setting to HIGH, there will be a relatively deep movement of the spinal muscles, especially when you lean on it. I don't recommend leaning on a pillow as it increases the pressure. I recommend not doing what I have been doing for chronic pain. Start "low" and do it for just 15 minutes, then get up and walk around, take an hour break and see how you progress!
