I've been using webcams since '95 and have tried many cameras since Connectix QuickCam 1.0. It was a great little camera and even the Color 2.0 was amazing. After USB came out and Logitech bought Connectix, they released the QuickCam VC. It was the worst camera I've ever used. I bought a Veo Advanced Connect tonight at a bargain price (available at a local store). It looks good. But once hooked up I don't understand how anyone can make a camera of this class that is actually WORSE than QuickCam VC! Even those pathetic little $8 bullet cameras work better than these! Lots of light and like everyone else. RED. Having experience with webcams (CCD and CMOS cameras in general), I'm used to setting options. The more I change it, the worse it works. At a "reasonable" level, the camera is too slow to capture facial changes, and when they actually turn their heads you won't see anything for a few seconds. Now . A lot of people might say they expect this, as they are used to many cameras looking like this on a modem. But I'm running this via USB 2.0 at 320x200, LAN connected to another computer in the living room! I must have PERFECT clarity! I can't stress enough how bad this is. Under the light of a 60 watt lamp, the best quality I can get is a 1 second exposure at 1 frame in 3 seconds. it's so bad
