damaged immediately and not zero hardness
I bought this a few months ago to use on some of the tropical fish I raise. I already had a cheaper unit so I waited until it ran out. I put it aside until recently. It was in the original unopened packaging. My fault for not opening and checking it out right away. The metal bracket it attaches to was bent and the plastic bracket on the side that attaches to the water inlet was broken. I took a part from my existing device and tweaked it. It works, but I have yet to get a gallon of zero hardness. I could not get any stiffness with my 3 stage device. I'm going from 33 to 35 td.
