I have shopped on many breed specific websites to find the perfect comfortable harness for my medium sized dachshunds. They are larger than miniatures but smaller than standard. The peculiarity of dachshunds is that their chest is larger than that of a typical small breed, and it is very important to protect their back from injury. These harnesses look EXACTLY like the ones sold on Dachshund Sites, but are almost three times the price. Get lots of compliments on how cute they look and fit perfectly. None of my puppies had a rash or irritation, even after many miles of hiking. My little girl has sensitive skin with mild alopecia in her armpits (hairless areas) and has never had any signs of irritation from this harness. It's loose enough to be worn over a sweater in the winter, yet breathable in the summer yet snug and secure - there's no room for escape. My tan girl's measurements: She is thin, weighs 12 pounds.
