Review on ⌚ Casio Wave Ceptor Solar MULTIBAND6 Watch LWA-M142-7AJF: Authentic Japan Import for Optimal Timekeeping by Stephanie Hammons

I ordered two different analog solar atomic clock watches: Casio Wave Ceptor Tough Solar MULTIBAND6 men's watch WVA-M630B-1AJF (imported from Japan) (ASIN: B00B2IT71C), the C will it" black watch" and "Casio Wave Ceptor Solar MULTIBAND6 Watch LWA-M142-7AJF (Japan import)" (ASIN: B00B6Z3WX0) or "white watch". Assuming the photos are posted in the order I uploaded them, the white clock photos will be immediately followed by the same black clock photo. Both watches timed correctly as soon as I opened their boxes, even though I was well out of range of the Colorado watch (near Philadelphia). I actually had to set my home time zone to get the correct time, but the clock was set accordingly. I never opened the instruction manual because I knew I would be returning one or the other watch (or maybe both). Instead, I googled the model numbers (black: 5061; white: 5133) and found manuals online. This made it much easier to set the time zone and found that they had timer, stopwatch and alarm functions. The instructions state that you should be careful not to cover the watch face with the case to allow it to charge. It takes some getting used to. At some point I'll probably experiment with how much I need to care. I usually prefer a black strap and black dial, so despite my concerns that the dial would be too big for my small wrist, I ordered a black watch. (I'm 5'2"). This turned out to be true. However, I was also a bit worried that a white watch would be really ugly in person, so I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out that wasn't the case. Strict, brilliant white, the strap is slightly opalescent which makes it a bit classier.It's still mostly plastic (rosin) so I'll probably swap it out if I need it, maybe metal.I'm excited too, as is the strap gets soiled. So far (less than a week later) it shows no stains or scuffs, so perhaps the strap material is an improvement over 80's Swatch watches. Others point out that the white watch's strap is short, and I would agree. I have it on the 4th hole from the end and it sticks out very little. may be too short for many men (my wrist circumference is 6-1/4"). Compare this to an oversized black watch strap. for me n oh usable. Other notable differences between the two: highlights on white are more evenly distributed across the face where there is a bright spot on black where the light is coming from (I guess it doesn't matter much but it did. Keep my attention on me ). White has 4 buttons. The two on the right allow you to scroll back and forth in time zones. The black one only has 3 buttons, so just scroll forward. The time zone is probably one you don't set often, and there are only about a dozen options to scroll through, so it probably won't matter to most. The buttons on black have a lower profile, making it look slightly larger. It's hard to tell if I hit the target when trying to control her by touch. Glow in the dark hands/numbers on a black background are MUCH brighter. It was almost a deal breaker for me until I realized I could just turn on the lights when I needed to see the time. (Yes!) The watch's white glow is almost non-existent, even after a few minutes of charging in bright light. (The black is on the left in the photo, and yes, the white is barely visible apart from a slight orange glow from the salt lamp that was in the room. In the 9:20 photo, both watches have been charging for several minutes. ) The black one has a second hand. It also means you get tick, tick, tick. (White watches have a digital display showing the seconds, which is easy to read unless the minute hand is exactly on the half-hour, which obscures the display.) Both models are good watches at a great price if you can considering that they contain both solar panels and solar panels batteries. Functions of the atomic clock. I kept the white one. The black one was too big for me and I found the ticking to drive me insane at times, so I had to settle for a quieter option. All in all, after much searching, I think this is the closest I can get to my own version of perfection. That's more than I've spent on watches so far, but it's nice not to have to mess with changing the time and changing the battery.
