Replaced our Brita fridge. It is part of a larger pre- and post-filter system that includes a UV filter and a pH neutralizer. Very happy so far and haven't noticed any drop in water pressure. We use well water so keep that in mind. In my honest opinion, you probably shouldn't be using it as a sump and carbon filter at the same time. This filter will work for a long time if you install pre-filter first. In front of it are two filters. First, it's a washable 30 micron sediment filter. The second filter is a 25/1 micron rotary filter and not a 10 micron carbon filter. Our well water has always had a bad taste, so we've been using Brita filters for almost a decade, but this fixed the problem and we easily got over it. over 500 gallons through this filter. Of course, everything depends on the quality of the water. We had low pH (5.7) and low TDS (60) water. You really need to assess your own situation or hire a professional to do it for you.
