The advertised properties of these "combination pliers" convinced me. It is also listed as "Linesman Tongs". To remove a stripped nut/bolt, the cam ends must be "ribbed" to ensure a good grip on the bolt head. Yes, this feature is good and works fine. The problem is that the jaws don't fully touch as the internal "serration" leaves a small gap to fit around the head of the screw (see bottom pliers in pic 1). If you try to twist two 14 gauge wires together, the separation/gap will not fully contact the wires and it will be difficult to twist them. The other pliers (above in Figure 1) have fully closed jaws, making them ideal as pliers. The wire stripper of these pliers is an integral part. There is no adjustment to align the holes. The other $15.99 Newcalox cased pliers have detachable and adjustable wire strippers (see Figure 3). I just bought another model - the large pliers on the right in pics 2 and 3. Note that these pliers (left) have a serrated hole for gripping nuts/bolts. Other pliers (right) do not have this function. Basically, these pliers are good for loosening difficult screws and cutting wires. Its adaptability as a pair of pliers is spot on. I suggest you buy another pair of pliers for $15.99 with case if you need pliers. These pliers are good for removing nuts/bolt heads/nails.
