Goodbye Kahtula, hello SeaELF.

I used to be loyal to the Kahtoola MICROspike brand until a few weeks ago the lower rear chainring broke and they became unusable. They can cost around $70 and I wasn't in the mood to buy another pair. After a bit of online research I settled on these SeaELFs. Half the price of Kahtoolas and just as good if not better. Very strong rubber and tracks, the lug grips are also slightly larger and offer really good traction in fairly hard snow and ice. I would NOT recommend micro cleats for hard or "glass finish" ice, I always wear proper crampons for that. The extra top straps for them are also very helpful in keeping them in place on the foot and preventing them from sliding sideways etc. A very good VFM purchase that I am very happy with.
