I bought one each for the fridge and freezer. My choice was based on reading many reviews about this and other models. My conclusion was that this was the best made and most accurate. I guessed that both registered the same temperature right out of the box. That tells me they're probably accurate. I've noticed the one in the fridge goes down quickly with the door open, so it seems delicate. If you want accurate readings for your fridge, place it somewhere at eye level so you can see the temperature the instant you open the door and notice the temperature right away before it has time to dissipate. Some people have complained that they don't hang properly in all refrigerators; Since I have glass shelves, I can't hang mine. I just put it on top next to the front.
