Lightning looks simple, but when it breaks, you're out of luck. Or so I thought, but Zipper Repair works with a little tweaking. It turns out that accessing the end of the zipper, where the little metal clip holds the last few teeth, is the key to fixing these damn things. After cutting the protective nylon off the end of the zip and removing the old one, I was able to put on a new zip and it really worked! The zipper didn't have a latch, but there was one in the kit that now secures that end of the zipper. You'll need a pair of pliers and some patience to line up the two halves of the zipper to get started and then you'll need to make sure the clip/clip is attached so they stay in line, but when you're done that's it like new ! To be clear, these zippers need to be tightened at the end, they don't close like I was hoping, you can think of a two piece solution that you can add without opening the end of the zipper, but this solution is better than that Zipper is one piece, not the two pieces I imagined.
