This is a well made compass but it is rotated 180 degrees and there is no way to adjust the magnetic declination which is important everywhere but especially in Die 27 degree arctic declination from true north corresponds to current magnetic north. They have potential, but it's not there yet. I'm sending mine back and just bought Suunto, it always helps me. I'm an arctic explorer and sometimes rely on a compass, particularly to measure rock structure. Also, I'm usually far away from the road. GPS and satellite phones are inaccurate and unclear.
