Review on 🎂 Wilton Checkerboard Cake Decorating Set, 7-Piece - Including Round Cake Pans, Cake Decorating Tool, Icing Smoother, 3 Icing Combs, and Spatula by Allison Smith

I used to bake checkerboard cakes. They look very cool, but take a lot of time. Previously, the process consisted of baking three multi-colored layers with different flavors, cutting into concentric circles and assembling different cakes, icing with buttercream, then icing and decorating. a lot of time and effort for something that was expended in a quarter of the build time. So I was intrigued by this kit and the promise of accuracy in less time. The kit includes all the tools you need to bake, freeze and decorate a cake. The quality is excellent. Wilton is a name in baking and that's why. The pans are fine; implements all features as expected. The only disappointment was the single plastic insert. First, it would be nice to have three plastic inserts, one for each pan. Washing takes time. I found it shaky and inaccurate. My first attempts were met with bleeds and inaccuracies, a twist rather than a square. The instructions are fine, but I was lucky enough to fill the pans just over half full instead of the recommended two-thirds. It may just be a lack of technique, but I haven't had the same success as I did with the brick and mortar strategy. Well I like everything about this set except the insert. The set offers excellent value for money and you can always rely on Wilton's excellent quality. However, to bake a checkerboard cake, I went back to where I started.
