I bought an old "vintage" Needlemaster a few years ago and I love it. I was so excited to get a shiny new one! However, the new ones are not made in the same way. The cables are total crap. The metal part (i.e. inside the clear plastic) was sticking out on both of my cords. But I figured I could live with that since I don't use that length very often and $35 is insanely cheap for it. similar). But that's not really a problem - just use teflon tape ($1 for example can go in almost every section). You can make the fit as tight as you like and it won't damage the threads (and it's removable). Anyway, I set up my size 5 12 inch cord needles and started knitting the hat. However, after a few rows it broke completely. So there is a screw in the needle, but no screw in the cord. To be honest I could live with most wrong things. But if it bursts, it's totally unacceptable. Connecting knitting needles with cords is the main function of interchangeable knitting needles. My advice: get one for $37 instead (basically looks the same, but the case is pink). These lines are the same as the old Needlemaster (they are good quality and I've never had a problem).
