Review on πŸš— Curt Front Receiver Hitch for Toyota Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Tundra - 2-Inch Receiver, Easy Installation by Jeff Davidson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fits well, but a couple of notes.

This is the second Curt front receiver I installed on the car. As with the first, the receiver is well built and beautifully finished. The instructions were precise and easy to follow. Installation on my 2014 Toyota Tundra Double Cab was quick. There are two reasons I didn't give this five stars. Firstly, if your truck has a skid plate, you should either remove it or modify it so that you can change the oil filter without removing the skid plate, presumably because it will be difficult if not impossible to remove once installed. . The instructions for the recipient will mention this and indicate where to cut. The 4-inch round cut encompasses more than sheet metal. Part of the support frame also needs to be cut out. I have decided not to mount a skid plate for the time being as I will not be doing any hard off-road riding. The second issue is the distance the receiver is moved away from the front bumper. I measured 6.5 inches from the front of the license plate bracket to the front of the receiver. This means that some hitch tubes may not be long enough to fit the receiver properly. There are hitch extensions if that were a problem.

Pros
  • UNIVERSAL RECEIVER. Add a useful hitch receiver to the front of your vehicle with this front hitch receiver. Standard 2" receiver allows attachment of a snow blower, roof rack, bike rack, tow hook, winch mount or other towing accessory.
Cons
  • Some bugs
