I was looking for a carry on bag that looks good, is well made and will perform well. This bag has everything and more. You can carry it by the shoulder strap or just use the well-designed handle. When it's time to put it on the overhead bin, you can use the two well-placed canvas handles on each end to lift and slide it in. And when you receive your checked baggage, you can either carry it on the shoulder strap or use it as a backpack. to free your hands. When you use it as a backpack, there is a zip at the top for packing and unpacking. However, if you carry it over your shoulder or handbag, access is available along the full length of the bag. Well designed and well made with good zips and canvas material. True five stars.
